The customer requires an structural analysis of a communication tower according to Eurocode 3. Additionally a nonlinear buckling analysis will be performed.
The materials of the steel tower are E36 and E24. E=2.1E+11, Density =7850 Kg/m3 and Poisson =0.3. The antenna show below is assembled in the platform.
The Eurocode check fails in Compression buckling, Shear, Bending, and Combined Axial + Bending + Shear checking. The tower was strengthened with cables.
A nonlinear analysis is performed in order to shown the buckling geometrical nonlinearity as a “push over” test. Nonlinear buckling appears in these bars.
